M.J. Roth is a composer, percussionist, and student from Metro Detroit, Michigan. He writes innovative instrumental music for musicians of all levels, in addition to digital music and film scores. An experienced timpanist, they also perform on low brass with school and community ensembles. They are also exploring ensemble conducting and vocal music. He will graduate from high school in June 2024 and continue to Wayne State University the following August. 

The composer has worked with esteemed directors to bring his music to life for audiences in the state of Michigan and beyond. With various ensembles under the direction of Kevin Scollin, Katie Fauls, and Peggy Babcock, MJ has pushed the boundaries of middle and high school band music. In addition to concert music from the beginner to advanced levels, the composer has experience in composing and arranging for the marching arts. MJ’s first publication came out in 2023 through Randall Standridge Music at the age of 17. They now have additional publications for both band and string orchestra from RSM and other publishers.
